The New California Water Atlas

Making water understandable in California

Water Rights

Visit the Water Rights Interactive

  • Work began in December 2012.
  • We launched the Water Rights interactive in Sacramento, CA April 12, 2013.
  • Summer 2013 we are working on improving the water rights dataset, making it easier to use the data in web maps by documenting the dataset with the advice from the State Water Resource Control Board.
  • We have feedback about the Water Rights Interactive and will add some new features.

New Feature Roadmap

  • Report a problem button (possibly geolocated)
  • Share a link to a specific part of the map
  • Add all Statements of Diversion data to the database
  • Show linked POD's
  • Create some 'tours' of the data.

Comments

I was wondering if there is or will be an interactive map showing the consumption of prisons in California. In particular I am interested in the central valley, where water and the quality of water is a huge issue for farmers and citizens
